Tom Kinnear


Thomas C. Kinnear is D. Maynard Phelps Professor of Business Administration and Professor of Marketing, and founding Executive Director of the Samuel Zell and Robert H. Lurie Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies, at the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. He was former Eugene Applebaum Professor of Entrepreneurial Studies, Senior Associate Dean of the Business School and former Vice President for Development and Executive Officer for the University. He headed the $1.4 billion Campaign for Michigan in the 1990s. At Michigan, he has received awards for teaching excellence and service to the University. He holds an undergraduate degree and LLD (honoris causa) from Queen's University at Kingston, Ontario, an MBA from Harvard University, and a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Michigan. He received the Herbert Dow Award for lifetime contributions in entrepreneurship to the University of Michigan and to the State of Michigan, and the Michigan Venture Capital Association "Lifetime Achievement Award".

Calvin earned his Bachelor’s degree in Bioinformatic from the University of Michigan is committed to positively affecting the course of human history through his life's work. Calvin’s a former radio personality (station?) whose passionate about traveling, exploring other cultures, skydiving, and escape room adventures.

Jamie Speronis

Football Advisor

Jamie brings 25 years of football administration experience in both College and the NFL. He has served as the National President of the AFCA Football Operations Committee (2014-15) and the College Football Playoff Advisory Group from 2014-2018.

Victor Hobson

Financial Strategist

Victor Hobson began his career as a 2nd Round draft pick for the New York Jets and went on to play seven successful seasons in the NFL. After retiring in 2008, Hobson successfully made the transition to the entrepreneurial and entertainment industry. Victor currently serves as the President of new project acquisition and development for ASE Global Group and Chief Finical Strategist for BlitzPrep. Hobson made his producing and directing debut in the films "C'mon Man" (2012) and "Soul Ties" (2014). He serves in both group's development from deal evaluation, analysis and pre-development planning to construction, branding, marketing, operations, and sales. Hobson’s personal passion is mentoring athletes on their transition outside of sports and wrote a book on this topic, "Divorcing The Game - Moving Towards Your True Purpose" in 2016. Hobson graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science degree concentrating in Psychology.

Barb Hansen

Counseling Coordinator

Barb is a Clinical Social Worker who earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan. She worked for 11 years at the University of Michigan in the athletic department as an Athletic Counselor. She provided assessment and counseling for student athletes, ranging from mental health concerns to peak performance training, as well as consultation with coaches, crisis intervention and team development services. She was one of the founders of a ground-breaking program to reduce the stigma of mental health issues among student athletes with the creation of Athletes Connected ( at the University of Michigan. Barb continues to advocate for athletes and is excited to aid in the creation this new resource for athletes making the transition from sport to the next chapters of their lives. Barb earned her undergraduate degree from Grand Valley State University where she played basketball and field hockey. Upon graduation she was a free agent in the first women’s professional basketball league (WBL) in the U.S., playing for the San Francisco Pioneers. Barb retired from the University of Michigan June 2017 and currently has a small private practice in the Ann Arbor area, as well as acting as a consultant for Blitzprep. She is honing her tennis skills in semi-retirement, reads, and sings. She and her wife enjoy traveling, the beach, time with friends and family, and spoiling their dog.

Ryan Van Dyke

Director of User Experience

Ryan is the Director of User Experience for BlitzPrep. A perfect fit, “RVD” is the consummate leader whose life’s ambition is to help athletes in transition. ​Ryan’s football career spanned over 20 years with experiences at the QB position including Michigan State University, the NFL, NFL Europe, and the Arena Football League before injuries caused him to retire from the game. Since then, Ryan has achieved a wide range of experience – including accomplishments in manufacturing, insurance, and financial service sectors. Ryan’s “true passion” is his desire to give back to others and the community which stems from his own life after football transition; “there’s not a lot of help after you take off the helmet. I believe what we learned and what we went thru – together – deserves a better narrative and I want to be part of positive change for life after football.” Ryan is involved with many service roles which include coaching youth football at all levels, volunteerism and fundraising, and philanthropic advocacy for special needs groups he’s involved with. Ryan and his wife (Katie) and three sons (Ryan Jr, Boston, and Camden) live in Howell, MI.

Greg Jones

Assistant Director of Success Coaching and User Experience

Greg Jones went to high school in Cincinnati Ohio where he was an All-State playing linebacker. He played college football for Michigan State University, and was a two-time All-American.Greg graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Media Arts and Technology. The New York Giants selected him in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL Draft, and he was a member of the Giants' Super Bowl Championship team against the New England Patriots following the 2011 season. He has also played for the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans, the CFL's Toronto Argonauts, Saskatchewan Roughriders and the UFL's Las Vegas Locomotives. Greg works at the Legacy Football Center where he works with with over 8,000 football players every year all over the Midwest and Canada. Greg loves helping them develop on both and off the field.It is his passion to see players be successful after football.

Tara Wallach

Director of Success Coaching

Born and raised in the metro Detroit area, Tara returns to Michigan, after serving at the Mountain West Conference and National Collegiate Hockey Conference in Colorado Springs, CO. She studied health and sport, as well as business, at Miami University and proceeded to work in a fast, competitive, and nurturing environment, motivating student-athletes to find their passion outside of sport. Motivated by education and self-discovery, the student development industry was a natural fit. Eager to combined her professional experiences, innate creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit, Tara joins BlitzPrep, LLC. as the Director of Success Coaching. In her free time, Tara likes to ride horses (former equestrian), and also loves to travel. Some of her favorite she has visited are Johannesburg, South Africa, Hong Kong, Mazatlan, Mexico, and London, England. Grateful for amazing experiences at Miami University and the University of Michigan, Tara looks forward to ensuring all BlitzPrep, LLC students feel supported through their path towards a successful and purposeful life.

Ryan Davis

Chief Revenue Officer

Ryan Davis serves as the Chief Revenue Officer at BlitzPrep. Davis has over 20 years in major non-profits, philanthropy and sales, most recently as the Senior Director Development for the Miami Dolphins. Prior to the Miami Dolphins she spent eight years with University Michigan as the Chief Development officer for the U-M school of Kinesiolgy/Sport Management. Ryan has built her career as a collaborative leader and team member with a successful record of achievement in closing major individual gifts, Corporate Partnerships, Advisory Board building/management and has a passion for team building/growth and mentorship. A midwestern through and through she grew up in Ann Arbor, MI and graduated with a degree in Communications from Loyola University Chicago where she received a full athletic scholarship and was awarded team captain for women’s basketball her senior year. She also has a masters degree in Women’s Studies from Eastern Michigan University.

Shari Acho


One of the co-founders of BlitzPrep, Shari Acho has an unquenchable thirst for assuring athletes have a passion for life after sport. With almost 30 years as an academic and career counselor for collegiate athletes, Acho has seen first hand the void between thriving as a student-athlete and then being lost once sports is done. <br></br> Before confounding BlitzPrep last year, Acho spent 5 years with the University of Michigan’s Athletic Department developing and growing M-PACT -- Michigan’s Professional and Career Transition Program for student-athletes. It was the 25 years before starting this program that Acho daily interacted with athletes who, following graduation had lost their life’s passion which to that point had been sports. She has worked effortlessly to assure future athletes do not go through the same experiences. In recognition of her exemplary contributions to the University of Michigan’s Academic Success Program, she became an Honorary Letterwinner in 2012.

Michael Nisson


BlitzPrep co-founder Michael Nisson is a strategic, outside-the-box thinker and connector who believes in the transformative power of using meaningful relationships and personal capital to foster amazing innovation and creativity. Driven by an entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to do good for others, Michael and Shari Acho joined forces to start BlitzPrep -- and intends on changing the lives of thousand of former athletes.

Nancy Culotta

Chief Administrative Officer

Nancy manages the day-to-day operations at BlitzPrep and brings a wealth of experience to the team. Nancy’s corporate career spanned 35 years at NSF International, where she was a Vice President of Food and Consumer Products ​Certification Programs. It was at NSF where she identified the underserved needs of collegiate football players during their respective internships. After retiring from NSF, Nancy’s desire for helping student-athletes was realized in 2014 when she became ​a Career Counselor and Office Manager with M-Pact: Michigan Athletics​ Career Transition Program for Student Athletes. A native of Bethesda, Maryland; Culotta earned her undergraduate degree from Providence College and holds a Masters in Public Health from the University of Michigan. In her free time, Nancy​ enjoys spending time with her wife, hanging out with her little brother Kyieyan (13) from Big Brothers Big Sisters, spoiling her two Portuguese water dogs, and any sports related activities.
